Shera’s review of Therapy by Kathryn Perez – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
” If I could reach into the sky and grab a million stars, I would need a million more”
I am not sure my words that I write here can do this book the justice it deserves, because as I sit here to type this I am still left utterly speechless by this amazing, beautiful story.
This book was BY FAR the most raw, real, heart wrenching book I have ever read and I’ve read ALOT of books. When I tell you that this story will make you stop and think before bullying anyone in ANY form, whether, words, looks, cyber or any other means… It’s not a line, it’s not bullcrap, it’s the hard TRUTH. This book has humor, love, heartbreak, the realness that will reach into your soul take ahold of it and RUN away with the gut wrenching reality of what goes on in everyday life.
I have been touched by this personally in my life and I almost positive so many of you have too. You will NOT regret reading this book, I implore you to all reach out of the norm, and pick up this book and read it, REALLY read it. ABSORB it, make others around you feel it…..I did and I am still reeling from the effects of it.
This author is brilliant. That is the only word I can think of when I think of her, her words, her message. Absolute pure brilliance. Shera
WARNING: Due to possible triggering descriptions of self-harm, dark subject matter and some sexual situations this book is not recommended for anyone under the age of 17 years old.
Sometimes you have to get lost in order to be found…
I’m needy.
I’m broken.
Cutting breaks through my numbness, but only opens more wounds.
Depression, self-harm, bullying….that’s my reality.
Sex and guys….that’s my escape.
The space between the truth and lies is blurred leaving me torn, lost and confused. And while the monsters that live in my head try to beat me– the two men that I love try to save me.
This is my story of friendship, love, heartache, and the grueling journey that is mental-illness
