Review
Legal Briefs (Lawyers in Love #3) by N.M. Silber reviewed by Ashley K.
Lily Adler, lawyer and writer, and Adam Roth, Assistant District Attorney, have known each other since childhood and have been fighting since they first met during the “glitter incident.” Their best friends are now getting married and they have to play nice for the first time in twenty years. When a federal trial on the mob forces them to spend more time together will they be able to play nice?
I have to say I had never heard of this series before this book and it was amazing. Obviously this can be read as a stand-alone, but you might get a better feel for the characters if the others in the series were read first. I loved the fact that the lead heroine, Lily, is a strong woman and stands up for herself in every situation. Although graduating from law school, she isn’t sure if she wants to pursue law since she loves writing and is an erotic author. I love the way Adam and Lily bantered and picked on one another and I really got the sense of their love-hate relationship. The mixture of romance, mystery, and suspense made this for an all-around good read. I wish that the ending wasn’t so rushed though. It felt as though everything came to a close within just a few pages and I wish it had been drawn out just a little more. I would definitely give this book 4 out of 5 stars. The humor and banter alone made this an amazing book, but I also like that there was more than just the two main characters romance going on. I think I now have to go back to read the first two books in the series.
