The emotional and unforgettable new romance from the New York Times bestselling author of the On Dublin Street series.

So I was really anticipating Hero since I am in love with the On Dublin Street series, and it did not disappoint. Alexa Holland is an assistant to a photographer and knows her job inside and out. Her mother’s recent death has brought up old scars in her relationship with her family and the tragedy surrounds them. She tries to ignore the pain her father caused her when learning of how he destroyed another family, but she can no longer put it in the past when the man she feels she is in debt to is none other than the successful Caine Carraway.
“Because what was with me was that only three short months ago I had discovered my father was to blame for destroying Caine’s childhood.”
Caine has amassed his success by being extremely driven and dedicated to his work. When he runs into Alexa at a photo shoot she tries to apologize for her father’s mistakes all while coming to grips as to the truth of everything that happened, but Caine wants nothing to do with her or her apology. Because of this she loses her job and goes to beg Caine to call her boss to re-employ her, only to be employed by Caine instead. While she tries to show him she isn’t anything like her father, he tries to break her.
“I don’t know what this is you’re trying to do, but you and I are not the same.”
I found myself loving their banter back and forth and I loved that Alexa not only was a smart-ass but also stood up for herself. The sexual tension between Alexa and Caine was palpable throughout the story. I actually really liked this story even though some parts I found myself yelling at my kindle. Samantha Young delivers with this new story as she always does with her On Dublin Street series and I could not be happier. I definitely give this 5 out of 5 stars.
