I was showered with Diamonds, coated in lovely Gold and now bathed in beautiful Emeralds. The All that Glitters series continues in this newest installment – Emeralds, which is Trihn’s story.
Trihn is a beautiful girl who is trying to find her way in NYC, minding her own business worn out from a day of dance, she literally runs into this handsome, hot stranger named Preston. He charmed the pants right off me (I won’t lie) and Trihn. Preston is really the first real boyfriend Trihn has had. She is blinded by his charisma, all out sexiness and charm. You can’t help but falling for a guy like Preston, but what happens when everything is not what it seems? What happens when the floor drops out like some sort of sick magic trick?
This book even though part of a series can surely be read as a stand-alone. I will tell you, I got about half way through this one and literally started cussing like a truck driver. Insane amount of cussing, wtf’ing, no waying and holy $hitting. Over and over and over. Then I had to read what I just read again, because I could NOT believe what my eyes just saw! Then I started cussing at my book friend through IM’s because she had already read it and was just waiting like an evil witch for me to get smacked in the face! K.A. Linde through is a serious plot twist with this one, no doubt!
That’s all I can say without spoiling the story. This is one you need to read. I have to say, I really need to know how Trihn’s story pans out. It seems like all of her relationships with her family are complicated, thank god she has amazing friends because she surely needs them.
I am anxiously waiting for PLATINUM! Bring it on, because I am waiting to know what happens with Trihn and where she ultimately lands.

By the end of the night, her girlfriends were enamored with him, the guys were asking him about his workout regimen and promising to get together for gym dates—which she assured him was not entirely what he was thinking—and Trihn found herself completely in thrall with him.
He took her by the hand and pulled her out onto the mostly empty balcony. He twirled her around in place. She laughed and rose onto her tiptoes, spinning in place like a perfect ballerina, before being drawn into his arms.
“This was fun. You seemed worried at first,” he told her.
“I’ve never brought anyone to a model event with me besides my sister and my best friend,” she confessed.
“I’m honored,” he said, leaning his head against her forehead.
A spark ignited in her stomach as she swam in the sea of blue before her.
Everything narrowed down to this one moment—the look in his eyes, the feel of his hands sneaking under her shirt and grasping her skin, the energy igniting between them, their breaths intermingling in the small distance separating their bodies.
She felt herself freeze.
This wasn’t some fling that she would cast aside for the next hottie at a different shoot. This wasn’t some guy she’d make out with in a club after a good drink. This wasn’t a mistake.
This felt right, inexplicably right, in a way she had never felt before.
Their noses touched. She slid her hands up around his neck, drawing him closer. She wanted this. It wasn’t because she was listening to everyone around her, telling her to have a good time, to let herself get lost in something, not to be serious. It was because he made her serious nature seem normal. He made her feel…
That was enough for now. It didn’t have to be more. Just the promise of a beginning.
Their lips slid together, and the entire world disappeared completely, utterly falling away into some other universe. Her heart rushed into her throat, and her whole body contracted at the feel of him pressing against her. His tongue slipped invitingly against her bottom lip, and she opened the invitation with zeal, meeting him halfway. They moved against each other with practiced ease. Her whole body trembled with the heat and desire coursing through her.
Right then, she had never wanted anything more than this kiss. It was both tempting and terrifying because she felt as if she would give up everything to have this again.
As he leaned her against the railing, promising her the world with this kiss, the biggest cost she worried about was her heart.
FIVE FUN FACTS ABOUT EMERALDS
- Emeralds is primarily set in New York City. I went there for a weekend to do research for this book, and all of the places they go to (even if not specifically named) are real!
- Trihn is a ballerina at a dance studio in the city. Name changed from what it is in real life, but based off of the New York City ballet.
- I danced all forms of dance growing up and recently took up pole dancing. These are all centered around Trihn as she is a very accomplished dancer. All the moves she does in ballet or otherwise are real choreographed steps!
- This is the first book I’ve ever written in romance where the main character has an older sister.
- Trihn is basically the polar opposite of Bryna, the main character from Diamonds and Gold. She was really fun and difficult to write, because she is incredibly nuanced and has a personality that compartmentalizes her feelings and relationships depending on who she is with. I think that’s why Bryna and Trihn work as friends. Bryna holds Trihn up, and Trihn holds Bryna back. You’ll get to know Trihn so much more in this book and come to love her!
