I absolutely LOVED Neighbor Dearest! Now, Stepbrother Dearest was my first Penelope Ward read. I will admit it has a special place in my heart. Elec has a special place in my heart. But, Damien just wedged himself right in there!
I was pleasantly surprised by Chelsea and Damien’s story. It had it all. Love, laughter, heartbreak, torment, moving on and growth. Chelsea was heartbroken after Elec left her. She was so in love, a kind of love she never thought she would find again. She essentially closed herself off. But when she met Damien, there was an instant pull. These two have an undeniable connection, complete chemistry that you could feel through the pages.
While Chelsea is trying to move on from her past, it takes a little pushing from a seemingly pushy Damien to make it happen. It’s not hard since he is her neighbor and always around. Damien is a smart, sexy, brilliant man who also happens to be a brilliant artist who literally lives in each day. Little does Chelsea know that Damien is also trying to overcome hurdles himself. He wants to only be friends, she starts falling, but so does he. But will he give? Is it Chelsea who won’t let her wall down or is it Damien?
This story sucked me in. I started reading and read straight though. The banter, chemistry, backstory with these two characters was perfect. EVERYTHING about this book was amazing! Now I know I shouldn’t be greedy, but Tyler (Damien’s brother) or Jade (Chelsea’s sister) stories next would be awesome *hint hint*. 5 Neighborly Stars for Neighbor Dearest!
