24707079My Mind’s Eye (Book 1)

Ryker
She is the epitome of the girl next door, but with a feistiness that makes my dick throb.
I’m drawn to her like no other. She stirs things in me I have no desire to feel, makes me long for things I shouldn’t.
This is my game. I choose the players, and I never play for keeps.
I don’t believe in fate. I make my own destiny. I work hard and play harder. Luck is for pussies, karma for idiots. Me, I make shit happen.
Meeting her fucked up my plan. Threw me off my game.
I’m now face to face with my karma. Her name is Kat Rollins.

Kat
Ryker Eddison is the epitome of a player. You know the type: Mr. Get In and Get Out.
He’s all about the chase, wanting just one night. Everyone knows this—I know this. Still, I find myself craving him, my greedy body betraying what my heart and mind already know: he will only bring me pain.
He’s the guy who girls like me should avoid. I’m smart; I know better. But when I’m with him, I feel things I’ve never felt before. Things I never knew I wanted.
I can’t deny it … I like the chase. The high is explosive, but I’m afraid if I give in, I may end up losing more than I can handle: my heart.

reviewRyker is a bar tender at his brother’s bar (Pub Fiction) and a shameless man whore. He’s been hurt in the past and has zero intention of every letting that happen to him again. He loves women but he will not allow anyone close enough to hurt him again. When he meets Kat, the new hire at Pub Fiction, his world gets turned upside down.

Kat is in her last year of college and just wants to make it through the year and get on with her life. A life changing event at the end of last school year causes some major changes for Kat. When she meets the growling bar tender at Pub Fiction her world is rocked yet again. Kat was cheated on in a past relationship and has very little interest in pursuing another serious relationship.

Their chemistry is electric and absolutely undeniable. What happens when the playboy meets the good girl? Can they soothe each other’s hurt? Can new love heal old wounds?

My Mind’s Eye is Gillian Jones’s debut novel but I read On the Rocks before this one. Having done that I can absolutely see the growth of this author and would definitely recommend this author to anyone.

On the Rocks (Book 2)

Braunwyn
Four years ago, losing the love of my life almost destroyed me.
Years of being labeled and looked upon with disdain by everyone in my hometown almost wrecked me.
Four years ago, I became a mother and together we were enough… until I met him.
He wanted to rebuild my broken —I just didn’t know how to let him.
This is my story, of how one man’s love changed everything I thought I knew about life, love and myself.
Can Levi Eddison prove to be my restoration?

Levi
Everything in my world changed the day Braunwyn Daniels walked into my pub.
She was a woman of many contradictions. I recognized the happiness and sorrow each fighting its way to the surface from deep within.
I was drawn to her immediately.
Behind her long legs, chestnut brown hair and beautiful eyes lay a damaged soul.
I needed to change that —I just didn’t know how.
This is my story of how I met a broken girl and vowed to make her whole.
In the end, it turns out I knew nothing about true happiness until Braunwyn Daniels let me love her.

***SPECIAL NOTE ***
Mental Illness is a growing concern in our world today. On the Rocks is about surviving the aftermath of suicide, and believing in love again. Levi and Braunwyn’s love story is inspired by events that impacted the lives of people I care about deeply. I hope you enjoy their journey.

reviewAbsolutely AMAZING book!!

Braunwyn has been through hell and back. She lives for her daughter, Emme, who is nearly 5 years old. Since that traumatic night 4 years ago, Braun hasn’t been living for herself. Until Levi.

Levi lives for his bar. He lives and breathes work. Until Braun.

This is a story of breaking through walls, never giving up, and believing in true love. This is such an amazing book. I have not read My Mind’s Eye (it’s on my Kindle though!) and other than some spoilers, you don’t have to read My Mind’s Eye before On the Rocks.

I highly recommend this book!

One Last Shot (Book 3)

My name is Claire Knox.
People say I’m the female version of a player: a boyslayer, if you’re fluent in urban dictionary speak.
I hate long term relationships. I’ll never commit to sticking around long enough to get attached to the notion of love, marriage, or the proverbial two point five kids.
No sirree Not this girl.
There’s no way I’ll let myself get hurt by losing someone I love ever again.
Been there, felt that.
Consider me damaged goods if you will, but I’m happy.
Or so I thought, until my path crossed his again…

reviewI read this book almost a month ago and I have been trying to right the review since then, either in my head or on the computer. How do you convey how awesome a book is??

“…in short, I’m the crazy Wizard of Oz, who really isn’t a wizard at all, and you,” she kisses my cheek, “you are my Dorothy, the only person I’ve ever trusted enough to let see what’s been hidden behind the curtain.”

Ok so we’ve all read the man whore turned golden boy stories. Nothing against them at all. I love them. Who doesn’t love a good bad boy? This is not that book. Nope. Claire is the whore (ok that felt REALLY weird to type). I don’t mean she’s literally a hooker. She’s just the “guy” of this book so to speak.

Claire’s parents died when she was young and as such Claire made a steadfast rule that she would NEVER fall in love. All love did was break your heart when it left. It was better to protect herself and her heart and leave love to the other suckers out there. This rule had remained from the age of 14 through college. In college, Claire met Matt (Matty) and all the rules went out the window.

Claire fell head over heels in love. Matt was her everything.  She was happy. She knows all too well that happiness only lasts so long. Love only lasts so long.

After witnessing a horrible attack on her best friend, Claire freaks out and accepts a job elsewhere. Moving herself away from Matt and ending their relationship.

What happens when Claire moves home and sees Matt again? Can Matt forgive Claire for what she did back then? Can Claire accept that not all love ends in heartbreak?

“You’re a chickenshit, Claire.” He cuts me off. “Chicken to take a f***ing chance on me being your happiness. Too scared that something might happen to me, but f**k, Claire, life is a risk. Anyone can just f**ck, it takes courage to love, and to be loved. Stop being a coward and jump toward me rather than running away from me. All I wanna do is love you.”

This book is AMAZING! It is the 3rd book in the series and, while it can be read as a stand alone, I would recommend reading the other two as well. Great great great job Gillian!!

Gillian

I’m a wife, mother, and a crazy Canadian, living in Ontario with the loves of my life-my amazing hubby and sweetest little boy. I’m admittedly addicted to my friends, red wine, and laughter. A lover of alpha males, hot sex, coupled with the perfect side of angst all topped off with the epic happily ever after.
