From the moment I saw her through the window of her flower shop, something other than darkness took root inside me. Charlie shone like a beacon in a world that had long since lost any light. But she was never meant for me, a man that killed without remorse and collected bounties drenched in blood.I thought staying away would keep her safe, would shield her from me. I was wrong. Danger followed in my wake like death at a slaughter house. I protected her from the threats that circled like black buzzards, kept her safe with kill after kill. But everything comes with a price, especially second chances for a man like me.
Killing for her was easy. It was living for her that turned out to be the hard part.
Author’s Note: This is a full-length romance novel. Explicit violence and hot sex included. HEA, no cheating.
Dark Protector is my first Celia Aaron read. FIRST! Yes, I know you are sitting there thinking what rock has this girl lived under. ME TOO but I’m crawling out from underneath of it now. Have no fear this won’t be my last book from this very talented author.
This Dark Protector who I dubbed as a beautiful angel is dark, mysterious, sweet and sexy under all that ruthlessness he’s got going on. Conrad (Con) Mercer is the best of the best. But even the best can get their hearts wrapped up to where their head isn’t in the same game anymore. He is laser focused, makes no mistakes and this killer really does have a heart of gold as you come to find out while reading this story.
Charlie is a flower shop owner. She’s his obsession. Will she be his demise or his salvation? He watches, she knows he’s there but when a hit goes south she is caught in crosshairs and he will stop at absolutely nothing to protect her. No matter the cost. I have a serious girl crush on this resilient, strong, beautiful girl who turned out to be a complete bad***!
This was an epic amazing read. It’s dark but not too dark you can’t find the light. Mystery, romance, humor and compassion where you don’t expect to find it. This book was well written and in Dual POV which I love. This book kept me flipping pages all night long because I couldn’t wait to see what happened next! I absolutely devoured it!
