Benson Bayou Beauregard is the president of the Bear Bottom Guardians MC, and the grandson of the Sergeant at Arms for the Dixie Wardens MC. He’s a mountain of a man and the warden of a prison, and there’s only one thing that can scare him—being told that he’s the father of a three-year-old little girl.
A three-year-old little girl that has no clue who he is. Hell, he only finds out about the little cherub when a woman from child protective services comes by and rocks his world before leaving the girl in his shocked arms.
Every single thing he thinks he knows goes up in a cloud of smoke.
To make matters worse, the woman that he’s been trying to convince to give him a chance takes one look at the little girl and tells him that he’s just not in the right place to handle both of them.
But Bayou was never one to back down from a challenge.
He can handle a three-year-old girl that acts exactly like him, and he can more than take on the fiery red-head that sets flame to his blood while he’s at it.
I loved this book! More than loved it. Seriously Benson is my favorite so far and I’ve read almost every single LLV book published. 🙂
We’ve seen bits and pieces of Bayou in other stories but this is his book. Well his and Phoebe’s book I suppose. Bayou and Phoebe meet when they are younger. Bayou, known then as Benson, is the weird kid, on the spectrum but you know that he sees everything that happens around him. Always.
Phoebe has been in love with Bayou since they met as teenagers. Every guy she’s dated, every boy she’s kissed, every man she’s said no to have all been compared to the one man she’s never had. After graduating with her nursing degree, Phoebe applies to be a nurse at the prison where Bayou is the warden. Maybe not the safest job for a new grad nurse but with Bayou watching out for her, she could have taken a job in an African desert next to a pride of lions and been completely safe.
When Shiloh calls Phoebe and Bayou out of the compound and a 3 year old little girl is dropped in his lap, Bayou is about ready to crawl out of his skin. A little reasoning from Phoebe and he is willing to give it a go. Little does he know, that little girl will make herself right at home in his heart in no time.
Brielle is a holy hot mess. I know she has her reasons for being so but I don’t know if her character can be redeemed…time will tell.
In the mean time – go one click this book. Meet Bayou. Meet Phoebe. Watch as the big man’s walls crumble for a girl he met as an awkward teen that has no become the only woman he wants in his bed for the rest of time.
