From Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling Author M. Robinson comes an enemies to lovers, forbidden standalone romance.
Look but don’t touch…
She showed up at my bar with a fake ID, I kicked her out. On her 18th birthday, the following week, she showed up again. Except this time, she was demanding a job. Willing to do whatever it took to get it.
Against my better judgment, she got her way, but I’m not going to make it easy on her. Neither are the guys at the bar.
I have two choices: Pretend she’s mine to protect her. Or deal with the consequences when her five older, overprotective brothers find out what their little sister is up to.
Either way…
It’s going to be hell on me.
Because the enemy is my temptation and like a sinner, I just can’t stay away.
“For a man who lived and breathed control, losing it was a very dangerous thing.”
Haven is the only girl in a family with 5 older brothers and a very protective father. Her mother died when she was younger. She has 1 true goal with her life thus far…Travel to Europe after high school graduation, just like she had planned with her mother.
Hayes is also dealing with plenty of his own sh*t and though he pushes Haven away at every chance, he wants nothing more than to make Haven his, but when she finds out his secrets, there’s no way for that to work, he’s sure of it.
“I was blinded by her. Consumed by her. Wrecked by her. She owned each and every part of me, right down to my f*cking soul. I loved her.”
Is love enough to overcome the secrets and pain that lies just under the surface?
I have read, devoured, and LOVED almost all of Monica’s work, and I expected this book to be no different. From the beginning, the story felt a little off – like we were being dropped in in the middle of an early chapter, or like we missed a prologue. A LOT happened in this book, but at the same time it didn’t feel like much happened. Good book with the potential to be amazing!
