synopsis

The stunning conclusion to the New York Times Bestseller.

There’s one, unbreakable rule in the game.

Stay collected. Compartmentalize. Think your next move through. Never let your heart dictate your tactics.

The heart is impulsive.

The heart makes bad decisions.

The heart doesn’t see the long game.

Because the heart may have decided to get Adam back, but when the endgame comes, the heart’s going to be the first thing to break.

CD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up she’s at the well hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.

She’s frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn’t ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

Ashley’s Review 4.5 Stars !

Paige Petrova hasn’t had the easy-going life as of late. Her father has Alzheimer’s disease, and her fiancé was killed in an armed robbery shortly after buying their first apartment. Because of this, she vows to always take risks and live life to the fullest that she can. Her favorite thing to do is dance in the rain.

Adam Parker has built himself up from nothing. He grew up in an orphanage and has no memories of before he was found in an alleyway. Adam is keeping a secret from Paige that may very well tear them apart. Will their new love for one another be enough to hold them together?

So I have to say, this book was amazing. I read it in one sitting since I needed to find out what would happen next. Paige is such a carefree spirit; it was wonderful to see her fight with everything that she had for the man that she loves. Even after learning his secret she still stands by him.

“There is nowhere in the world that I would rather be than here at Adam’s side, but even so, the journey ahead is not one that I’m looking forward to.”

In the end, everything happens the way it is supposed to happen. I honestly laughed and cried through this read. This is definitely 4.5 out of 5 stars.  Continue reading
