HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF SUCH A GENRE—THE LIGHTER SIDE OF DARK?
Everyone will have their own definition of “Dark” vs. “Contemporary”, and perhaps there is a mixture of the two. I like to call this the “Grey” genre.
However, there is one thing for certain; you haven’t ever read this type of story before. Blyss is an original, one of a kind storyline in theme, circumstance, and character action.
You will definitely need all three books in order to put together the pieces of this puzzle, but isn’t that what makes reading fun? Book one sets the stage while you begin to embrace the thrill, the suspense, and the anticipation. There is a romance story amongst all the turmoil…you will just have to hang on for the ride.
CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE (with dark moments)
Blyss is something the world has been trying to create since the beginning of time, the ultimate aphrodisiac. A drug that’s used against women with one single purpose in mind….
Julianna Oakley has just finished up her junior year at college and flies home to spend her last free summer with her father on their prestigious Georgia estate. Julianna isn’t your typical spoiled, rich girl, prima donna. She’s down to earth and has an independent streak a mile wide, insisting she make her own way in this world.
Nick has been setting the stage for a long time, and sparks fly when their separate worlds collide. She is Nicks’ ultimate obsession, and he will stop at nothing to own her.
When Travis, Nick’s right hand man, lays his eyes on the prize all hell is about to break loose.
Travis should know Nick is playing for keeps, and while Julianna is fighting for her freedom, a lifetime full of secrets and twisted perceptions slowly unravel as Julianna gets caught in the fray.

First let me say, this was a fanfreakingtastic book! I would consider this book on the darker romance side, less on the contemporary romance side and I LOVE DARK! Yea, call me cray cray but I get sucked into a dark book like a lint ball into a hoover! There is just no escaping! This story revolves around a kidnapping and being forced in to the world of a new drug called Blyss. It’s supposed to be the end all be all of aphrodisiacs, given to women for one reason only. I am sure you can guess what that is.
Poor Julianne was kidnapped and taken away from everyone she loves. She comes from a powerful family and when a business deal goes the wrong way, Julianne is caught right up in it. Forced into a world she doesn’t know. She’s feisty, driven and she won’t go down without swinging that’s for sure. Her attitude might get in her trouble, or it may just save her life.
“I am Julianne Oakley and I have not begun to fight”
Nick who is the “Boss” has been sorta obsessed with Julianne for years, ok scratch that has really obsessed. One thing is for sure he totally underestimated her resilience. He is selfish, egoistical asswad with his own form of twisted (I love twisted). Then you have Travis, Nick’s partner who is the “Trainer”. He seems the complete opposite of Nick. He is kind and caring to Julianne. Gorgeous, charming, HOT Alpha Male and he seems as if he cares of Julianne, but does he really? Is that the real Travis?
You really should hate both Nick and Travis, but you can’t. It’s like your mind is saying WTF why do I like either of these guys, but you will and you won’t be able to stop it so don’t bother trying!
Can Julianne hold on to her sanity long enough to stay alive? Can she help but not fall for one of these boys?
This book has some very hot scenes, but some having you gripping your kindle so hard because they are gut wrenching jaw dropping hold on tight scenes. Blyss to me is the ultimate date rape drug, which makes you love and hate what is going on.
I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds and look forward to the next book in the series! 4 Stars!
