Evan Carlson is running away from his life after seeing pictures of his girlfriend with another man are splashed all over the media. He ends up on Perry Island and tries his best to blend in with the locals, which seems as though it is easier that what he originally thought possible. Here he meets Haven Owen, who is working at her family’s hardware store. Haven is an inspiring songwriter and just wants off of the island to start her life.

Evan hates seeing Haven upset so takes a job at the hardware store to help out and to get to know her better. Under the guise of being Jay, Haven has no idea who Evan really is, and they start a summer romance. I loved the chemistry between the two! Evan was very understanding of Haven, and helped whenever and however he could. His life catches up with him in the end, and he has to explain to Haven about who is really is and all of his lies.

I loved this story! I give this a 4.5 out of 5 stars. The dynamic between Evan and Haven was awesome and the story just sucked me in. Although this can be read as a stand-alone, you first meet Evan in T.A. Foster’s previous book Cover Spell (Ivy Grace Spell #2.) I will probably go back and read those just for more background on Evan to see what happened before Finding Haven. I wish that more had been said about Haven’s past and some resolution to her family issues (maybe another story in this series?). I also want to find out what happens with Evan and Haven’s relationship! This is a great read!
