Shera’s Review of the First 3 books in the Inside Out Series 4 out of 5 Stars!
The first book, If I Were You is basically Sara’s POV. I love the inner dialog, because I felt like I was in her head, which is a very emotional, torn place to be. She seems damaged and just can’t find happiness. She finds a journal written by Rebecca, she is shocked by the contents as well as concerned and ultimately starts living out Rebecca’s dreams as she realizes her own desires and fantasies from reading the journals. Rebecca speaks of a man in her journals and Sara is determined to seek him out..
Mark is ALL Alpha Male, hot, sexy, arrogant and completely dominant. He has this way about him and you can’t help to be drawn to him even though we don’t know much about him.
“Lies; they always come back to haunt you.”
Then of course we have Chris Merit the other male in the story who like Mark a complete alpha male, he works at the gallery also and is an artist. He’s sexy, has control issues and flip flops all over the place attitude wise and has a secret he is hiding.
“You told me I was making you crazy last night,” he reminds me, drawing me out of my thoughts, back to a present I’m uncertain of.
“You are, Chris.”
“Well, you are making me crazy, too.”
“Is this supposed to be making me feel better?”
I can honestly say I had a hard time choosing one of the other, there are reasons to love both of them. But could either of them be the mystery man in Sara’s journals??
In Being Me, I loved that this continued on with Chris and Sara and we really see both their Secrets. You will be shocked of what you learn in this book. They both have to work through the demons of their pasts and this book continues with the twists and turns. There is plenty of HAWT sex for sure…
“Taste you on me. That says you belong to me. Don’t forget it.
This book was such a rollercoaster and is an emotional read. You get to see the different sides of all the characters though out the entire story. Just when you think you know all the answers….. The hits keep on coming and your jaw will drop more than once, leaving you reeling and drooling for the next book!
“It’s our scars that define us, Sara. Diego has to live life to appreciate life.” “Yes.” A knot forms in my stomach at the idea that I still don’t know how deeply Chris’s scars define him.”
And Revealing Us picks up right where Being me left off. Chris wants a normal relationship and wants to put his BDSM days behind him.
“My head drops back and I have a fleeting out-of-body moment where I see myself in the window, my hands tied above my head with my legs wrapped around the neck of Chris Merit, while he does delicious things to my body.”
We find out exactly what Rebecca’s secret is and who the mystery man was. Their relationship seems to be normal, but Chris is still hiding something and is holding it back from Sara. This book is like all the others HAWT, but focuses more on the relationship between Sara and Chris. Chris is so protective of Sara and it just melts my heart…
“Baby, I held back today to let you get over all you’ve been through. But don’t let that mislead you. You wouldn’t be here if I planned on protecting you from me.
The characters in this story are well developed, the story flows very well throughout the books and the Novella’s. They are very well paced, hot, steamy and the author has done a fantastic job in not rushing the story, but giving you enough to keep you flipping pages faster than your fingers allow.
“You can embrace who you really are, and we can be whoever we want to be together.”
