Sawyer Sterling is a very independent and driven person. She has a very sad past which leads her to keep everyone at arm’s length. The only people who have been constants in her life are her best friend Sarah, and her childhood friend Jared Keller. When she and Jared cross the line of being friends to sleeping together, Sawyer has reevaluate herself if she can be the person that Jared deserves. She starts on a journey that reveals more about her past, which leads to her asking more questions about the person she really is. I could really connect with Sawyer’s internal conflict as to whether she could be the person that so many have told her she is.

I have to say, if I could find a Jared Keller in real life, I would be all over that! Jared was so incredibly patient with Sawyer as she dealt with her own insecurities and past. I mean he even gave her space when she needed it to get herself together, and encouraged her to get the answers to all of her questions even if he couldn’t be there for her.

I would give this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. It was such an emotional journey into Sawyers past to help her discover who she is capable of being. I highly suggest this read!
