*Blog Tour and Review* Happily Letter After by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward

Title: Happily Letter After

Authors: Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward

Publisher: Montlake

Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance

Release Date: October 20, 2020

From New York Times bestselling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward comes a love story about taking chances and the surprises that come with them.
My love story all started with a letter.
Only it wasn’t from the man I’d eventually fall in love with. It was from his daughter. A sweet little girl named Birdie Maxwell who’d written to the magazine that I worked for.
You see, once a year my employer fulfilled a few wishes for readers. Only that column didn’t start up again for months.
So I fulfilled some of her wishes myself. It was harmless…so I thought. Until one day I took things too far.
While anonymously granting yet another of Birdie’s wishes, I got a look at her father. Her devastatingly handsome, single dad father.
I should have stopped playing fairy godmother then. I should have left well enough alone. But I just couldn’t help myself. I had a connection to this girl. One that had me acting irrationally.
Like when I showed up on their doorstep.

I totally loved Happily Letter After. This was one of my most loved books written so far by the dynamic duo. I thought the characters were just perfect and the story line was super cute. It kept me interested from start to finish and feeling every emotion you can think of.

Sadie received a Letter to Santa in the middle of summer where she works writing dating do’s and lots and lots of dont’s. She also reads the letters for Santa during the holiday season, so getting a letter so early had her intrigued. She felt connected to this little girl writing the letters and wanted to make her Santa wishes come true. Sadie thought what could it hurt to send a few items, but one thing led to another and she found herself right on the doorstep of Birdies house one day. What she certainly wasn’t expecting was a massive case of mistaken identity that she literally just rolled with, figuring she’d make a swift exit only it didn’t happen that way. She definitely wasn’t expecting Sebastian or to fall for Birdie and The Duke.

This story was funny, quirky, fun and heart-warming. I loved every single second of it. While I loved Sadie and Sebastian’s chemistry and banter, I really think Birdie stole my heart in this book! The connection between Birdie and Sadie is what really made me fall in love with this one!

reviewReviewed by Shera 5 of 5 HAPPY stars!

Some Sort of Happy is book one in the Happy Crazy Love Series by the fantastic Melanie Harlow. I loved her other books but this book just blew me away! This book was a different turn than Melanie’s other books and what a RIGHT turn it was!!

Melanie managed to touch on a very serious subject that isn’t talked about much and still write a light, airy, heart wrenching book. While your heart breaks at times, others you will find yourself in a fit of laughter or your heart pounding a mile a minute because you are in absolute love with these characters.

Sebastian Pryce is one helluva man. In school, he was not so popular mainly because of his issues. Now years later he has grown into one gorgeous, sweet, mind blowing man. He still has his quirks, but in my eyes they are just quirks, in his eyes they are the reason he will be alone forever.

Sebastian always had a thing for Skylar in school, I mean who didn’t she was gorgeous but he never let on about it. Skylar comes back home embarrassed of something she did in the past, she feels like a failure, little does this girl realize just how much spunk and will power she has. Set to find her way, find a new job and make it on her own.

Now these two run into each other almost 10 years later and well, the rest is history. Skylar and Sebastian have immediate chemistry. The more Skylar learns about Sebastian the more she falls. The more she falls the more frustrated she becomes. She wants him to let her in; the problem is Sebastian struggles and doesn’t know how.

“You’re a beautiful, brilliant, complicated man, Sebastian Pryce. And I adore you. But if you want to suffer here alone with your tortured soul because you think for some f***ed up reason you deserve it, fine. Choose suffering over me. But I can’t watch it. It will destroy me” ~ Skylar

The road isn’t easy. It’s rocky, slippery at times but beautiful. Will Skylar break through Sebastian’s walls? Will these two find love and finally let it in?

This book was witty, sexy, and heart-wrenchingly beautiful. Easily one of my top reads of this year! 5 fantastic stars for Some Sort of Happy!

What a fanfreakingtastic ending to Sebastian’s story!   I was totally blown away with the Unhinged Series.  This series is a story of love, heartbreak, deceit.   It’s true, there is one person out there that can be your superglue and finding out the truth to pain you’ve held onto for so long can truly set you free.

“This woman, not only did she unhinge me, she pulled me back together when I felt as though I was unraveling”

After book two, I was left broken, deflated and hurt.  Yes, I ugly cried.  Then cried some more because I had to know right then and there what the heck was going to come of all of it.   So I patiently waited…Tap…Tap…Tap then BOOM Chaos was released and I immediately dug right in.

This picks up right where book two left off and so do the lies and deception.   Poor Payton is beside herself.  She immediately trys to reach out to Conrad to inform him of what happened, doesn’t answer.  So she calls Lauren explains everything and leaves a message for Aaliyah to call her.  No one shows up at the hospital, as a matter of fact no one says anything at ALL about the accident.   Coincidence?  I think not.

Sebastian finally makes the move to cut ties with Conrad and Trovato Inc.  He is convinced that Conrad had something to do directly with his mother’s death.  With Sebastian gone, Conrad brings in Creepy Trevor.  We will get back to him later.

Payton is determined to stick it out at Trovato Inc to help Sebastian figure out what happened in the past.   Afraid his friends will think he is a basketcase he keeps them in the dark about his feelings with his mother,   He finally opens up to his friends about his theory and not only do they NOT think hes bananas, but they have other ideas of what may have happened, and so it begins……

Connections are used and they catch a break, but will this break tear Sebastian and Payton apart?  Will knowing the truth cause harm to either one of them?   Insert Trevor back.  We all know something is right with him and in this book you will finally learn why.  All the secrets, the lies, the coverups will all come flying in your face faster then you can say, Say WHHHHHHAT?

This series was amazing.  I know some wait till all books are out, well ladies, they are out and I encourage you to grab them.   The banter between Payton and Sebastian, all the boys is amazing.  You will laugh, you will cry and you may scream at some point but I promise its all worth it.  The ending of this book, O M G amazing.  I think I am totally in Love with Sebastian Trovato, that man UNHINGED ME!

I love nothing more when a story comes full circle and when I say that I mean completely full circle and you’re not left wondering really about any of the characters in the story even the supporting ones.     I am glad Nicole Edwards Alter ego decided to pop her head out and say hello.  I can only hope she has more in the works!!  5 Stars to this entire series!

“This man…he wasn’t the only one unhinged. I sensed the darkness and danger that lurked inside of him, but it didn’t scare me. In fact, I felt just the opposite. I was drawn to him. So much so that I knew my life was irrevocably changed from moment forward” ~ Payton

Unraveling is book 2 of the Unhinged series by Timberlyn Scott. I fell in love with Sebastian and Payton in Unhinged and this is the continuation and delves deeper into their story. Buckle up, strap yourself in because you are about to go on one hell of a ride.

Sebastian Trovato has hard life. He is very smart, knows what he wants and is ready to move forward and get out of the grasps of Conrad. See, Sebastian is the brains of the operation but few know that. Conrad is the controlling jerk of a father; I don’t even think father suits him. He is more like a controlling money hungry jerk, that is more concerned about the next buck and he clearly doesn’t give a ratsass about Sebastian. Payton works for Conrad and he has his sights set to keep her busy, so busy thinking he can keep her away from Sebastian now that he knows they have been together.

Well Conrad I got news for you buddy, no matter what you are trying to do…Sebastian has other plans. Payton doesn’t know all of Sebastian’s secrets, we still don’t know all of them but one thing is clear. He will NOT give Payton up no matter what, she’s his Angel. He has fallen for Payton, and has only ever loved one person in his life and she left him unwillingly. We start to see what makes Sebastian tick, but we don’t know all of it…yet.

“It had been iffy there for a while, my anger had been a firestorm burning out of control, but just as I suspected, the moment I looked at her, I had calmed down” ~Sebastian

In a trip to Vegas, pieces start to fall together. Of course Sebastian was not invited, Conrad had plans to fill Payton’s head with god knows what, but we knew he wouldn’t stay away, from here starts a chain of events that take you even deeper into the story.

The pull between Sebastian and Payton is magnetic. When they are together they both feel grounded, not lost, lonely and floating in space. I love the relationship they have. In this book you’ll get to know more of Aaliyah and her relationship with Sebastian. I honestly like her her a lot. She may be uppity but she’s grounded and I think she has a good heart. We also see more of Sebastian’s best friends Lief and Toby. I love how she keeps letting us see more and more into the characters backgrounds and I feel like I am really getting to know them.

I can’t wait for the next book. I was screaming at the end, literally. Book 3 can’t come quick enough, because I need more Sebastian and I need him NOW. Towards the end of this book, things get tense and I promise it will leave you hanging onto the edge of your seat.

Five Stars to Timberlyn for this new series. This is way different then Nicole Edwards other books, her alter ego popped out and its shining bright. You will definitely want to read this series, it is different but so deliciously good!

Sebastian
Trovato…
“Want
a tour?” I asked, pressing my lips to the soft skin of her neck.
“Yeah,”
she said, sounding a little breathless.
Reluctantly,
I released her so I could show her around. It wasn’t that I wanted to give her
a grand tour of the house I would be moving out of in the near future, but it
was that or toss her over my shoulder and carry her to my bedroom. I wasn’t a
patient man, but with Payton, I knew I had to make a concession. The last thing
I wanted to do was scare her off.
So,
we made our way to the kitchen. I didn’t use the area often, mainly because I
wasn’t much of a cook and living alone, it just wasn’t a place I spent a lot of
time. The stainless steel appliances were state of the art and picked out by my
stepmother. They looked good with the modern white cabinets and black granite
countertops, also designed by Lauren. The decorations that sat on the tops of
the counters weren’t my idea either, but since the housekeeper dusted and
cleaned once a week, I didn’t bother to toss them into a cabinet. Like I said,
this was the room I probably spent the least amount of time in.
“What’s
in your refrigerator?” Payton asked, grinning at me before releasing my hand.
“Are you hungry?” I asked, confused by her question.
“Nope. But what’s in the
refrigerator tells a lot about a person.”
“That right?” I’d never heard that
before.
And
I wasn’t sure the few things in my refrigerator were going to say a lot about
me.
Especially
since I didn’t do my own grocery shopping either. “Orange juice, yogurt, milk,
cheese… water.” Payton glanced back at me, her waist length dark hair sliding
over her shoulder and falling down her back. Her smile was radiant and I knew
right then that I wanted to see her in my kitchen more often. Not so that she
could cook for me or any sexist bullshit like that, just because she made the
space that much more welcoming.
“What
does that say about me?” I asked, hopping up onto the counter and watching her.
“It says you’re boring, Sebastian.”
I chuckled, continuing to watch her rummage
through the contents. “Boring, huh?” “No beer?”
“I
don’t drink that much. Usually only when I go out.” I hadn’t bothered to
mention to Payton that I had a highly addictive personality which was the
reason I avoided certain things. I didn’t drink much, rarely at home; I didn’t
smoke, although I’d stupidly done so to be cool when I was younger. I’d never
tried drugs either. My drug of choice was adrenaline which was why I raced. I
released the pent up anger by beating the shit out of the heavy bag in my
weight room, knowing that if I didn’t, the undercurrent would eventually invade
my life and turn me into someone I didn’t want to look at in the mirror each
day.
“Interesting.”
I
wanted to know just what was going through her head, but I didn’t get to ask
because she was on a roll.
“Do
you eat cereal?” Payton closed the refrigerator door and opened the freezer.
“Sometimes.
Would that make me less boring?”
“Maybe.
At least you’ve got ice cream.”
“I
do?” I really had no idea.
“Vanilla,”
she said, grinning widely. “Imagine that.”
“I’ll
have to remember to add chocolate to the grocery list,” I told her, remembering
the first time I took her out for ice cream.
“You
do that. Get chocolate syrup while you’re at it.”
Yep,
my ass hopped right down off that counter so damn fast it was a wonder I didn’t
face plant on the gray travertine floor. “Alrighty, then. Time to see another
room.” I grabbed her hand and tugged her into the formal living room, shifting
uncomfortably as my jeans became just a little too tight.

*Review* Where The Dead Walk by John Bowen

Synopsis4For some, ghosts are no more than the wounds loved ones leave in their wake, haunting the living only with their absence. Others take a more literal view…
Kate Bennett, presenter of paranormal investigation cable TV show, ‘Where the Dead Walk’, isn’t sure what she believes, other than she seems cursed to lose all those closest to her.

After investigating a neglected cliff-top house, empty for a decade because its ‘haunted’, Kate is left convinced a spirit within holds the answers to a childhood she can’t remember and an unimaginable crime.

What she can’t know is that the house’s owner, Sebastian Dahl, is searching for something too, and he intends to get it, whatever the cost.

dead5ReviewReviewed by Ashley  4.5 Stars!

Let me first start off by saying that this was an amazing read and I highly recommend it. This is a haunted house/paranormal book that will keep you at the edge of your seat trying to figure out what will happen next. I have to say, even though Where the Dead Walk isn’t the usual genre of book that I read, it held me captivated and I honestly had an extremely hard time putting it down.

Kate Bennett is the host for a paranormal TV show, Where the Dead Walk. It is a show about haunted houses and trying to see if it is possible for there to be supernatural activity. The show itself, reminded me of the real show Ghost Hunters, where they try to find actual truth rather just rely on stories. Kate has had an extremely troubled life, and even believes at times that she is cursed. Because of this, she puts everything she has into her work and the success for the show.

Sebastian Dahl is an extremely successful businessman, who has brought himself from nothing to riches by being a building developer. He contacts the show because he believes a house that he built is haunted and would like for the team to check it out for themselves. It seems as though he is infatuated with Kate, and really does not want to deal with anyone else on her team or the show when it comes to his house.Dahl’s house is set on top of a hill with the ocean behind it in a completely remote area. It seems to give everyone the spooks, even in the daylight.

“Kate could imagine it being eerie as hell at night, not just due to its creepy aesthetics, but also from the knowledge it had been sealed up for so long, tomb-like, as though it had been left to slumber.”

What is it about the house that the team will find? Will we ever be able to find out why Sebastian is so infatuated with Kate? From page one, John Bowen sucked me intto his story, and I could not help turning the pages to try to unravel what the ending would be. The characters were well developed, and as the reader, you are able to see the story from multiple perspectives to give you more insight to what is going on. This being a first novel for Bowen, I cannot wait to see what other stories he will come up with.
