Title: Broken Course (Wrecked and Ruined, #3)
Author: Aly Martinez
Release Date: November 10, 2014
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Seven years ago, my life changed forever. One accident and the person I saw in the mirror no longer resembled the woman I used to be. I was lost and confused inside my own body. I felt alone and disconnected from the world, carrying the incredible weight of guilt and loss that wasn’t even mine to harbor.
Then fate led me to Leo James. He taught me that crazy could be perfectly normal and it shouldn’t hurt to breathe. Don’t get me wrong. Leo isn’t perfect. He has his own cross to bear, and the truth is, that might be why I fell for him in the first place. But despite everything he does for me, learning to forgive myself is infinitely harder than overlooking the flaws of another.
Now, the secrets and lies of our past have begun to dictate our future—threatening to ruin us before we get the chance to try. Perhaps we were cursed from the start. Or maybe, just maybe, the remnants of our fractured lives will fit together to form one whole, where love isn’t questioned and being happy is…well, easy.
Can a second broken soul be enough to fill the voids of my own? Or will such scarred pasts prove too much for our love alone to overcome?
**Each book in this series can be read as a stand alone.**
Wrecked and Ruined
Changing Course (Wrecked and Ruined, #1)
Stolen Course (Wrecked and Ruined, #2)
Broken Course (Wrecked and Ruined, #3)
Broken Course is Sarah Erickson’s story. She happened to run into Leo James at the end of Among the Echoes and this story picks up right where that left off…. This can be read as a standalone but I suggest you read the first two Changing Course and Stolen Course first that way you go in knowing the whole story of what happened before.
Sarah hasn’t dated in 7 years. Her past is sketchy and tragic. The reason she hasn’t dated in 7 years is because of how her last relationship ended. She agrees to go on a date with the ever so sexy Leo and their connection is unfriggindeniable. We see glimpses of the past with Sarah and Brett, and it was painful. The torment she was going through, the pain, those little flashbacks make you understand why she is the way she is now.
“I don’t need you to remind me that none of us are perfect”
Leo isn’t perfect either. His sexy Spanish speaking goes along with his incredibly sexy self. Swoonworthy for sure. But, he hides a secret, a secret that breaks him and it could break the relationship he is trying to build with Sarah. He is such an Alpha Male, very persistent and so incredibly caring about other people.
Two broken souls trying to “fix” eachother. But can two wrongs make such a delicious right? When pasts are revealed can they stay together?
“We have a long road ahead of us because of our pasts. We both still struggle on a daily basis, and I can’t swear to you that will ever stop. But it doesn’t feel impossible when I’m with you. You make me smile and laugh. You make things right even when the world feels completely wrong.”
Now we pause….and SWOOON!!! Do they have enough trust in each other to make it through what is coming their way?
The sex in this book off the charts….. Like HAWWWWWWT, and when he starts speaking Spanish, O M GEEE I just melted to the floor every single time. The storyline was fantastic, there were twists and turns with a perfect mix of drama, mystery and tons of emotions. I couldn’t have predicted most of the twists if I tried. They were revealed at the right time leaving your jaw hanging open and heart pounding in your chest. I laughed, I cried and I totally friggin melted at some points thinking “why can’t I be Sarah right now” even though I didn’t like her previously I now love her and I think it’s because of Leo James that I found a likeable part of Sarah. I give this book 5 of 5 Stars!
