Title: Bound and Unbroken
Author: Skye Callahan
Release Date: February 25, 2014
Lena is about to discover pleasure in the things she can’t control.
To get even with her roommate for dragging her to a sports bar on a Friday night, Lena begins flirting with the handsome stranger who sits at the bar next to her. Their anonymous conversation leads to a shared cab ride, but Lena’s conscience puts a damper on the evening—leaving the near-fling to become a memory. Until she finds him roaming the halls of the school where she teaches.
Will she submit to his desires?
Eric’s only reason for returning to his hometown is to care for his recently orphaned nephew. He knew the return would involve dredging up his past with family and friends, but he didn’t expect a lone girl to capture his interest and offer an escape within his new life.
Will his binds be enough to keep her?
Note: This book contains explicit sexual content (including BDSM themes), graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: M/f anal play, bondage, spanking, exhibitionism.
4 of 5 Stars – Bound and Unbroken by Skye Callahan Reviewed by Shera Layn
From the very start you could tell that Skye was writing about an issue close to her heart. I love the back story with Eric aka Rusty, who was called home to take care of his orphaned nephew, which just melts my heart as you learn of the struggles he has. He meets Lena aka Loner at a bar, who is a teacher and lives with a very overprotective roommate Jeremiah. After Lena leans the reason that Eric is town, it really obliterates her version of him being a play boy at that point. Cade who is Eric’s best friend is an awesome secondary character and I hope to learn more about him in a future novel possibly.
The Chemistry between Lena and Eric was hot. Eric, very experienced in the BDSM world, displays control throughout the entire book during scenes just as a Dom Should be and Lena is basically Vanilla, having only her wants and desires never acted on but waiting to be unleashed and Eric is going to make her realize just how much she needs. It may have progressed a little quicker than I would like, but was very well written. There are a lot of heavy issues dealt with in this book. I personally find books dealing with heavy deep issues are the books to suck me in especially when the wring flows seamlessly and perfectly complements the story as it did in Bound and Unbroken.
In the end… Lena is dealing with a lot of fears. Has she found a new way to release the endorphin’s she needs overcome the urges in a more positive way? Is Eric the person to help her do that? I love BDSM books in General but this book touched on other subject, was well rounded and the secondary characters in this book all certainly have the possibility to carry on their own stories for sure. I am excited to read what comes from Skye next and would recommend this as a solid read.
